Présentation

Enseignantes : Elizabeth Mullen et Gwentalyn Engélibert

Contenu :

Conducted in English, this course aims to initiate students in the basics of film theory and analysis, relying heavily on critical readings and film extracts from a broad spectrum of historical periods and film genres.

Each week’s lesson will focus on a particular aspect of analysis and theory, reinforced by careful study of specific film sequences.  Students will be provided with a week-by-week syllabus of critical readings and films; in the second half of the semester, students will analyze a sequence in class. For the final written examination, students will analyze a sequence taken from one of the films studied in class.
