Oral scientifique
Présentation
This course aims at preparing students to give scientific talks in English. Scientific oral presentations are built upon special format, and must be designed in order to answer a specific scientific question and deliver key scientific messages in a synthetic manner. During this course, students will practice their oral skills by giving short scientific presentations on different types of scientific subjects.

Compétences visées
Students will learn how to present in English some scientific results in a limited amount of time, respecting the time line, controlling their body language. They will work on the organization of their ideas in order to build clear and synthetic slides, and deliver clear scientific messages adapted to their audience
Descriptif
During this course, Students will be taught some elementary rules to follow when giving an oral presentation. They will practice their oral skills by giving 4 or 5 short (~15 min max) scientific presentations (one at each session) in front of their class-mates. Each presentation will be analyzed collectively in order to highlight how one may improve his/her body language, slides, organization of ideas, scientific content so that the audience gets delivered a key scientific message to walk away with.
